Running to Win: Our Hope for the Future and our Help for Today

There are too many people who start off well in the Christian life, but they don't finish the race. Why? Because they don't even know what the end of the race looks like. Without a robust understanding of what heave is - where God is taking us 0 we have very little reason to strive to get there, much less to tell others that a life of faith is worthwhile. As the great Yogi Berra famously said "If you don't know where you're going, you'll probably end up somewhere else."

This is one of the major challenges for Christians today - we don't know where we're going - and that leaves us lacking direction and purpose in this life. We need to reclaim a doctrine of heaven - really a doctrine of the new heavens and the new earther - an understanding of where god it taking us, and in so doing, we'll find greater purpose in this life as well.

The great thing is that the Bible does give us a picture of heaven, and in understanding the Bible's picture of heaven, we see the joy and the celebration that make perservering in this life worthwhile. Join the NPGA Prayer Breakfast for a look at the Bible's picture of heaven in Revelation 19:6-10, one that will encourage those who believe and invite those who don't.
